Mental Health Support

Action for Happiness: A not-for-profit organisation providing resources and evidenced based ideas for actions we can take to help reduce and prevent mental ill health – personally, in the community and workplaces. 

Anna Freud Centre (0207 794 2313): A children’s mental health charity providing specialist help, research and training for children, families and schools.

Charlie Waller Memorial Trust: Awareness, information and resources for young people who are depressed.

Heads Together: A campaign to end mental health stigma spearheaded by the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge and Prince Harry.

Mental Health Foundation: UK Charity dedicated to finding and addressing the sources of mental health.

Children’s Social Care and Early Help Support

Children and Family Wellbeing Service: The Children and Family Wellbeing Service, previously children’s centres and Young People’s Service, provide services to help with parenting and other support you may need.

Generic Information

Barnardo’s: A leading children’s Charity which provides services, research and guidance on a range of things including children’s well being, child poverty, sexual exploitation, disability and domestic violence.

Childline (0800 11 11): Counselling service for parents, children and young people offering free and confidential advice.  Also offers multilingual services.

Family Links: Offers programmes for parents of children from 9 months to 18 years providing information on leading emotionally health lives, building resilience and empathy, self-esteem.  Specialist programmes include parenting with Islamic Values, working with parents in prison and working with parents of children with a disability.
