Statutory Admissions

The Acorns School is commissioned by Lancashire County Council to provide education for those pupils who have been permanently excluded from their mainstream school.

Other

The local authority in specific circumstances will refer pupils to The Acorns. These circumstances may include pupils considered under “Fair Access” protocols, those new to area that are unable to go to a mainstream school or for other reasons.

Medical

For information about requesting a placement for a pupil with health related needs please click on the link provided for instructions. Please note, you must apply directly to the Team Referral email to be considered by the panel. Referrals that come direct to The Acorns Schools will not be considered.

The completed form should be submitted to sssmedicalreferrals@lancashire.gov.uk via the Portal or secure email.

Intervention Placements

The Acorns School will only accept referrals for intervention from your child’s mainstream school. Please would parents/carers discuss a referral in the first instance with your school’s SENCo. The school can then complete the form below and send to: referrals@westlancspcss.lancs.sch.uk

Subscription Criteria:

Priority admissions are pupils who have been permanently excluded from their mainstream school and medical pupils who have been approved by the panel at Lancashire County Council. 

Interventions are capped, changing annually based on agreed commissioned numbers from Lancashire County Council. 

We can agree bespoke SEND packages for pupils with an EHCP, this is done on an individual case basis.
